Climate change is now widely accepted as the largest long-term environmental problem facing humanity and its major cause is carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. A not-for-profit organisation formed in 1992, we've rapidly become a leading figure in the fight to address climate change. Our aim is to promote sustainable energy, while reducing consumption and carbon emissions in the domestic and transport sectors throughout the UK.

Marketing Manager – Energy Efficiency
Circa £30,000 depending on experience + excellent benefits

The purpose of this role is to manage Energy Saving Trust consumer marketing and communications activity in Scotland, specifically marketing energy efficiency activities ensuring that all activity either local or Scotland-wide is well planned, driven by research and insight, clearly measurable and focussed on achieving the Energy Saving Trust’s organisation targets.

The main responsibilities for this post include:

  • Deliver the Energy Assistance Package (EAP) and Home Insulation Scheme (HIS) marketing campaigns to agreed objectives;
  • Plan, develop and deliver national awareness campaigns on the EAP and HIS to budget;
  • Oversee local EAP and HIS network activity alongside Transport and Network manager;
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on EAP & HIS
  • Ground campaign in customer insight through effective monitoring, research and evaluation;
  • Develop EAP & HIS collateral and website with support of direct reports.
  • Develop and implement activity plans on smaller campaigns and ad hoc activity required by the Marketing Manager, Scotland
  • Provide day to day line management of 2 direct reports
  • Manage and report on budget KPIs for accountable programmes
  • Manage public relations activity for Energy Efficiency with the support of an external PR agency;

To be successful in this post, you will have:

  • A relevant degree or post graduate qualification in Marketing and/or Communications.
  • Substantial experience of working within a Marketing department, including specific responsibility for direct marketing;
  • Proven experience of using a range of PR, marketing tools and techniques;
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering marketing results;
  • Experience of managing budgets across a range of marketing activity;
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to write clearly and creatively;
  • Proven skills in handling marketing and communications agencies;
  • Experience of working online and managing campaigns over the web.
  • To be results orientated, with good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise your workload and achieve deadlines;
  • Reporting skills, both budgetary and performance against targets;
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with people at different levels and from different backgrounds;
  • Experience of line management of staff.
