In coordination with the local program implementation team, and under the management of the Director of Regional Marketing Programs based in Westborough, Massachusetts, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to meet program and organizational objectives. The Lombard-based Marketing Manager will work with CSG and Nicor Gas to deliver and test behavior-based approaches to increase energy-efficient behavior and program participation. In addition to the behavioral program, this role will also support the Home Energy Savings assessment program by championing various marketing tactics to help drive awareness and meet program goals. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with social media, organizing community challenges, working with regional and national social networks and have a demonstrated track record of successfully promoting client programs, products and services. Experience with traditional marketing mediums such as print advertising, coop advertising, direct mail, POP displays, website, collateral development, public relations, events management, etc. will also be instrumental in the success of both programs.

Responsibilities:

The Marketing Manager will work with internal and external clients, including CSG staff and sub-contractors, participating contractors, trade allies, utilities and others, as needed. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for defining strategy and assisting in the development and execution of integrated marketing programs that include:

  • Leading Nicor Gas’ behavior-change campaign utilizing MyEnergy’s web-based energy-efficiency platform, Myenergy.com.
  • Identifying key groups and social networks that can increase participation on MyEnergy and subsequently decrease energy use within Nicor Gas’ territory.
  • Working with CSG program and marketing staff to develop strategy, and create and execute marketing plans to ensure growth and expansion across Nicor Gas programs.
  • Recruiting local businesses to participate in MyEnergy’s Rewards program, which offers financial discounts to customers who reduce energy consumption.
  • Planning and overseeing the programs’ advertising and promotion activities including PR, advertising, collateral, social media, digital communications, events and community mobilization and direct- and email outlets.
  • Interfacing with various community-based groups delivering evening and weekend presentations to interested community groups.
  • Maintaining excellent communications and responsiveness to clients, internal staff, participating contractors and builders, trade allies, regional and local community groups.
  • Assisting client and program participating contractors to fulfill advertising, public relations, communications and co-op advertising and promotional requests, as warranted.
  • Communicating with outside agencies and/or client marketing teams on ongoing campaigns.
  • Measuring effectiveness of marketing/advertising initiatives through marketing analytics tactics. Preparing marketing activity and results reports for internal staff and clients.
  • Maintaining CSG customer service standards for internal and external customers.
  • Responsibilities may expand to other energy-efficiency initiatives and client services throughout the region.
Qualifications:
  • 6 - 10 years project/account service skills, preferably in an advertising/marketing agency environment
  • 6 - 10  years direct marketing and advertising experience, including community mobilization/events coordination, and results tracking
  • Recruitment of various local resources to solicit ongoing participation across both programs to drive adoption and results
  • Public relations experience with media outreach and special events
  • Strong project management, communications, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate ideas, resolve issues and offer solutions within a team environment and must be highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and staff and experience working with senior executives
  • Knowledge of graphic design concepts
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field

 

 

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
