Internship Program Description

Award-winning Jungle Bay on the ‘Nature Island’ of Dominica www.junglebaydominica.com is recruiting an ambitious & creative Marketing Intern (primarily electronic with a special focus on social media) to assist in implementation of our 2013 promotional strategy and launching our new brand. Our adventure and wellness property attracts guests from North America, Europe and the Caribbean and with our high traveler ratings we are experiencing an increased level of repeat guests. We are seeking for a new member of our team dedicated to developing and managing an e-marketing strategy that includes posting regularly on our youtube, facebook, twitter, flickr, blogs and implementing email niche marketing campaigns. The candidate will also design new outreach campaigns possibly including Pinterest and more. Your goal will be to drive traffic from target markets to our website, where our sales team will convert them to bookings. Weekly and monthly marketing reports of Google Analytics data and other metrics will be required.

This is a great opportunity to build experience in tourism marketing, social networking and eco-tourism while living and working at one of the world’s top ten eco-lodges.

Required Skills:

• Experience and passion for social networking
• Knowledge of marketing or public relations
• Excellent in copywriting and editing
• Ability to work in both independently and in a team atmosphere
• Multi-tasking and time management capabilities
• A passion for sustainable tourism
• Experience in website CMSs  (HTML an asset but not required)
• Experience travelling and or living abroad
• Sensitivity to living in a different cultural environment
• Interest and experience with photography and Adobe Photoshop an asset
• Interest and experience with videography and video editing software an asset
• French and German language skills a definite asset

This internship begins approximately March 2013 and minimum 6 month commitment is required.

Remuneration: Room, Board & Airfare

The staff member will live on site at the resort, eat delicious cuisine,(room and board) have access to all activities and spa treatments offered at the resort and be mentored from marketing partners abroad and a on-island. After 6 months of service the value of an economy class round trip air ticket will be provided.
