Climate change is now widely accepted as the largest long-term environmental problem facing humanity and its major cause is carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. A not-for-profit organisation formed in 1992, we've rapidly become a leading figure in the fight to address climate change. Our aim is to promote sustainable energy, while reducing consumption and carbon emissions in the domestic and transport sectors throughout the UK.

Marketing Assistant
Circa £19,000 depending on experience
Fixed term, London

The purpose of this post is to work closely with the Marketing and Communications teams, in particular the brand and direct marketing functions to support marketing and PR activity to the target audiences.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

· Support the Brand and Proposition Manager to manage the brand assets including the image library
· Support the Direct Marketing Manager to develop and maintain processes to measure campaigns effectively
· Support the Communications Team with collating press cuttings, handling media enquiries, developing media lists and co-ordination of events
· Coordinate and maintain the team’s financial systems, ensuring all finance procedures have been followed
· Support marketing managers to ensure that agencies work to agreed targets
· Assist other marketing teams as required to ensure projects are delivered to deadlines

To be successful for this role you will have:

  • Good communication skills, including a good telephone manner the ability to write clearly
  • Intermediate level experience of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people at different levels
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The initiative to refer complex issues to a more senior level
  • Excellent attention to detail and good numeric skills
  • Good organisational skills including ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your work
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn more about marketing and communications
  • Preferably a relevant graduate qualification
  • Knowledge of climate change and the energy or environmental sector is an advantage
