Job Title: Marketing and Lead Generation Officer

Based at: Tyland Barn, Maidstone and working from Home

The Job

You will be a part of Kent Wildlife Trust’s Marketing and Communications team, within the Fundraising and Marketing department. Your role will support the creation and delivery of external and internal campaigns, appeal and project activities that support the trust to maximise awareness, engagement, event sales and income through our channels and subsidiaries with particular expertise in social media and/or B2B marketing.

Working under an ambitious strategy, this is an exciting opportunity to significantly raise the profile of Kent Wildlife Trust’s brand, promote its vision and lead on a culture change to a campaign focused approach. You will have at least one years’ experience in social media and/or digital marketing ideally with a good understanding of lead generation and strong skills in creating shareable content (paid-for and organic), adapting content for different audiences and promoting events. An excellent writer and editor with strong people skills and lots of initiative, you will also have a good eye for an engagement opportunity. 

This post draws together a number of tasks that are crucial in providing support to deliver targeted communications to key audiences to raise our profile, increase understanding of our cause and engage businesses, supporters, and partners with our work.

You will

  • Have demonstrable experience in marketing and communications with at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role focussed on social media and/or B2B marketing.
  • Possess a high level of written English and be able to spot a great SEO or blog opportunity.
  • Be confident working with brand guidelines, both our own and partners, to good effect.
  • Have previous experience in driving event sales or lead generation through on and offline channels.
  • Be dynamic and creative, with an imaginative approach to communications and a team player, able to work with various departments to coordinate activities.
  • Have a good understanding of monitoring and digital analytics tools.
  • Be audience-focussed with content writing experience across multiple channels and to multiple audience types.
  • Have some experience using CRM systems, Raiser's Edge NXT would be a bonus, and/or confidence inputting data into a database system.
  • Be confident using Microsoft Excel to format and filter data, ready for inputting into a CRM system.
  • Need energy and creativity, with the ability to come up with new and exciting ideas, explore new trends and find the perfect wording for social posts targeted to our audiences.
  • Need a passion for environmental and conservation issues.
  • Have the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and concisely – both in writing and face-to-face.
