##Background

The Society for the Environment (SocEnv) is an independent, not for profit organisation incorporated by Royal Charter and responsible for awarding the title Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) to professional individuals through its 23 licensed member bodies. 

Chartered Environmentalists come from no single profession but operate across all professional sectors. There are now 7,000 environmental professionals with CEnv status, which denotes sound knowledge, proven experience and a profound commitment to sustainable best practice within that professional's field of expertise.

The Society’s key objective is to promote the advancement of, the dissemination of, knowledge of and education in good environmental practice for the public benefit.

Working at SocEnv would provide a recent graduate with an excellent insight into the breadth of the skills and opportunities open to environmental professionals from all levels and sectors.  

 

##Objective

The Marketing and Administration officer will help SocEnv with the promotion of professional environmental qualifications including the ‘10k CEnvs Campaign’ to promote the Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) qualification and with the production of marketing materials for the launch of a new qualification ‘Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech).  The post will also involve research and production of website content and the sourcing of content for the quarterly newsletter.  Administrative assistance with the production of a report in the autumn following SocEnv’s ‘Greening the Manifestos’ debate.  Assistance with day to day office admin including event management and finance processes will also be required.
