The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage a consultant (Indian National only) on contractual basis for a period of two months for the project ‘Determining the Offshore Distribution, Migration and Movement of Olive Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) along the East-coast of India’ to prepare “the best practice guideline for hydrocarbon exploration and production along the coastal and marine environment of India with special reference to marine turtle habitats”. Director, WII, reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information or any other reason. Details of position and duration

 O1 - Consultant

 

Duration: Two Months.

Essential Qualification

Candidates must possess M.Sc and Ph.D. Degrees in Marine Biology/Marine Science from a recognised University.

Desirable Qualification

Candidate with published research work to their credit in the subject of marine biodiversity and have already shown evidence of independent research work will be given preference.

Project Description

The consultancy aims to analyze various existing best practise guidelines related to hydrocarbon exploration and production activities in coastal and marine environment and under the guidance of the project supervisors prepare a suitable best practise guidelines for India keeping the sea turtles and other threatened marine biodiversity in mind.

Job  Description

Preparation of  ‘Best Practice Guidelines’ during the exploration and production phase of hydrocarbon activities in the habitat of sea turtle in India.
