Marine Protected Areas Monitoring Officer

Starting salary £26,533 pa 

Are you interested in protecting marine biodiversity and helping society use the marine environment in a sustainable way for future generations? Do you have a scientific background and the ability to apply your skills and knowledge to working as an independent advisor to the UK Government and the Devolved Administrations?

JNCC advises Government on UK and international nature conservation and is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Marine Monitoring Team. You will work under the guidance of staff leading on the development of JNCC’s marine monitoring programme. In doing so, you will support the development of MPA monitoring options for the UK Government and the Devolved Administrations. In addition, you will develop offshore MPA monitoring plans and assist in the planning of offshore MPA monitoring surveys. All candidates that are invited to interview will be asked to carry out a GIS and data assessment test on the day
