About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join APEM’s wider senior management team with a remit to lead, expand and diversify the business plan and capabilities of our established marine ecology team. You will work within and across a wider team of aquatic and remote sensing practitioners to deliver projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will work with a wide variety of environmental & engineering consultancies, government agencies and regulatory bodies as well as other external stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business, policy and regulatory environment in which our clients operate, as well as having proven success in building a customer base and maintaining long term client relationships.

Relevant experience:

-       Extensive previous environmental consultancy experience.

-       Comfortable working in both a technical and commercial environment.

-       Confident in marine environmental and planning legislation.

-       Proven ability in a relevant marine discipline or sector.

-       Project delivery, stakeholder engagement and client management, within a fast paced, commercial environment.

-       Team management, mentoring and development.

-       Developing, managing and working to budgets.

-       Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

-       Reviewing, producing and communicating technical reports, including providing effective and constructive feedback to team members as part of an ongoing mentoring and development process.

You will be primarily office-based, although site visits and client meetings will be required; therefore, a full driving licence is essential.
