Description

The Job:  The role of the Marine Planning Officer is to enable the Trust to achieve proper engagement in marine planning issues to protect the important marine biodiversity of the county of Kent and region, and to deliver biodiversity enhancement. This is a crucial role helping the Trust to contribute to a sustainable future in which ecologically healthy, properly functioning seas are the foundation of sustainable economic growth. You will engage with developers, statutory bodies and non-governmental organisations to influence individual marine and coastal development proposals that could impact on marine habitats and biodiversity.

You:  The post holder will have a sound understanding of the key factors affecting marine wildlife and the marine environment, the planning system and current planning policy. Good presentational and negotiating skills are required.
