Marine Mapping Scientist

Starting salary £26,533 pa

Are you interested in protecting marine biodiversity and helping society use the marine environment in a sustainable way?

JNCC advises Government on UK and international nature conservation and is looking to expand its Marine Directorate in Peterborough. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to take on the new role of Marine Mapping Scientist.

Working internationally and in the UK, you will join our team focused on developing and improving seabed habitat maps and models. You will have strong skills in GIS and data analysis, be effective at working collaboratively with international partners and have broad relevant marine knowledge.

The closing date is midnight on Thursday 3rd October 2013. Interviewing will take place in Peterborough, provisionally on Monday 21st October 2013. If you are invited to interview, you will be asked to carry out a short GIS and data assessment test on the day of the interview.
