Description

 

We are looking for a motivated intern to join our team for 3 months, developing marine conservation projects around the spectacular Bligh Water and Vatu-i-ra Passage in Fiji. The role will support the Eco-Projects Coordinator in developing and implementing coral reef surveying and monitoring; artificial reef development; shark conservation programs and other activities. Additional divemaster support for the dive centre may be required. We are based at a PADI 5* IDC Centre on a small island resort well known for water sports. This position is voluntary and all transport costs must be covered by the intern. Free accommodation and meals are provided. There is the possibility of a discounted IDC should the applicant wish to continue their PADI training. For potential candidates who meet other requirements but are only Rescue Diver level, there is the possibility of a 4 month internship with a PADI Divemaster course included.

 

 

Skills / qualifications required:

Divemaster

Experience in coral reef conservation / surveying

Good marine identification skills

 

 

Desirable:

Reef Check certification

Experience working and living in remote environments

Personal dive equipment (underwater camera a bonus)
