Exponent’s Environmental Sciences Practice has scientists and engineers with expertise in a variety of disciplines, including chemistry, bioavailability, environmental forensics, environmental liability and cost apportionment, global product stewardship, site investigation and remediation consulting, transport and fate modeling, and water resources and water quality management. In addition, our staff can draw on the knowledge and expertise of scientists, engineers, physicians, and business consultants specializing in more than 90 technical disciplines within Exponent.

We are currently seeking a Managing Scientist for our Environmental Sciences Practice in the Maynard, MA office. The ideal candidate will have:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in soil science, hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental engineering or related discipline
  • Five (or more) years of consulting experience in the environmental sciences area
  • Experience analyzing chemical data for different chemical groups in different industrial setups
  • Testifying experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently to analyze complex chemical and historical data sets
  • Excellent writing and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in writing expert reports
  • High motivation, articulation, and the enthusiasm to establish and enhance his or her reputation through publishing in professional journals and presenting influential papers at professional and/or client-oriented meetings
