Managing Director of Development
Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the continent’s leader in waterfowl and wetlands conservation, seeks a Managing Director of Development to provide strategic direction and leadership for the development efforts in the Great Plains Region and to be responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations to support the conservation mission of Ducks Unlimited. POSITION DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a four-year degree from an accredited university, six years of fundraising experience which includes at least four years of development experience. Candidates must also have superb communications, writing, and presentation skills; ability to persuasively convey the mission of DU; proven success in building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents and in soliciting and securing major gifts; and knowledge of current and evolving trends in major gift solicitation. The Managing Director of Development reports to the National Director of Development and collaborates closely with the Managing Director of Development Operations. Candidates must be willing to work hours that extend outside of the typical workday and workweek throughout the year; significant overnight travel is required. The successful candidate will be expected to reside near and work from the Ducks Unlimited Great Plains Regional office located in Bismarck, ND.
