My client is a leading producer of solar modules and systems, with a strong global reach and a highly impressive track record. They already have a strong presence the markets throughout Europe, Canada and the USA and are now looking for an experienced Managing Director to head up their operations throughout China.
Position Overview: My client is seeking a Managing Director with several years experience in both the technical and commercial aspects of the solar industry. Reporting directly to the owner/CEO based in Germany, you will be tasked with overseeing all operations and expansion within China. This is an exceptional opportunity to take a leading, hands on role in one of the most exciting global producers within the solar space.
Responsibilities:-
- · Responsibility for both profit and loss
- · Taking charge of the commercial, technical and organizational interests throughout China
- · Negotiating terms and closing deals
- · Developing and managing key accounts
- · Develop the business in new markets
- · Liaising with both administrative and political authorities
- · Maintaining and managing existing clients whilst developing new ones
- · Fostering effective relationships with key stake-holders
- · Ensure that all deals meet the required revenue and margin expectations
- Provide leadership to the managers of all departments including finance, HR, business development, operations and IT whilst maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals
- Act as a go-between and find appropriate local partners (technicians, engineers, building planners, HSE officers etc.)
- Supervise and oversee of all matters on the commercial side
- Liaise with onsite project developers to ensure punctual completion of solar projects
Education:-
- · Must have a very strong academic background (MBA is desirable)
Core Requirements:-
- You must have at least 3-5 years experience in business within the solar industry, with an exceptional track record and around 4-7 years of team leadership experience
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
- A proven track record in solar business development and growth
- The successful candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
- Exceptional presentation skills
