Manager

Shoals Rodrigues is marine conservation NGO based on the island of Rodrigues in the Republic of Mauritius. Shoals Rodrigues has supported conservation of the islands’ marine environment for over 10 years, through research, training and education.

Shoals Rodrigues are currently looking to recruit a new Manager to oversee our conservation and research projects and lead our small team of employees. You would be responsible for managing the team, overseeing the smooth running of the Field Centre and coordinating the implementation of project activities and deliverables. This role is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to take the organisation forward and to develop new initiatives.

Successful candidates will have a BSc/MSc in a related field and/or equivalent project management experience, preferably in marine conservation in the WIO region. Previous experience of managing staff and project budgets is essential. Furthermore the candidate will have excellent communication, presentation, organisational and administrative skills, and be fluent in written and spoken English (French or Creole would be an advantage). A proven ability to write proposals and fundraise would be considered an advantage.
