The newly formed Shopper Marketing Manager (SMM) role at Recyclebank is a critical function that will build our retail program integrating Recyclebank, retail partners and CPG clients to drive consumer purchase activity. Recyclebank shopper marketing manager works with client-based shopper marketing teams to provide innovative promotions and market driving initiatives. Recyclebank provides the key linkage between the Brand Marketing teams and the Shopper teams to ensure focused plans and execution of growth opportunities. Recyclebank's program affords consumer brands and retailers a unique opportunity to provide points for green action while supporting local communities as they advance recycling rates. The Recyclebank program connects consumer packaged goods with highly engaged consumers through a variety of online and offline programmatic touch-points, while supporting measureable green actions. Recyclebank is in the process of launching a series of shopper marketing pilot programs at niche retailers for back to school, Recyclebank is in the process of negotiating a pilot retail program with key national retailers for Earth Month 2012.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop relationships with key retailers and CPG shopper marketing organizations at primary CPG accounts
  • Develop, pitch and close comprehensive multi-media shopper marketing promotions in partnership with business development
  • Responsibility for tactics, targets, packaging, pricing, and the staffing necessary to maximize revenue
  • Design customized and relevant programs that integrate Recyclebank's rewards, points and advertising offerings to drive ROI for both retail and CPG partners.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and communication with all internal partners, enabling optimal results
  • Collaborates with Business Development, Marketing and Rewards to ensure Shopper Marketing programs are aligned with business and operating plan. Shopper Marketing programs are “insight driven”, effectively communicated in-store and in-line with category growth strategies for CPG clients. SMM remains accountable for delivering program Volume and ROI objective.
  • Develops relationship with Customer’s Marketing teams to facilitate knowledge sharing to help inform and influence Recyclebank brand partners’ Shopper Marketing plans to drive merchandising with customer. Target list includes but is not limited to: Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, Meijer, HEB, Wakefern, Ahold, Aldi, Walgreens, CVS, Costco, Shop Rite
  • Leverage expertise in consumer behavior and loyalty generation to build business case, develop proposals and consult with prospective clients

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree required, MBA a plus
  • Experience in shopper marketing for a retailer or CPG company.
  • At least 5 years of Brand Promotions, Retail and/or Integrated Marketing experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present in front of high level customer decision makers.
  • Consumer packaged goods experience required, ideally in food manufacturing.
  • Successful prior experience working with brand management teams to translate marketing objectives into functional co-marketing or consumer promotion strategies and tactics. Previous co-marketing experience a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to successfully leverage a suite of online and offline products tailored to a diverse set of customers
  • Personal sales record shows a consistent ability to develop and maintain lucrative long-term relationships with leading companies
  • Has deep relationships with brand leaders and advertising agencies
  • Familiarity with website analytics, usability, and design
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
