Opower is seeking a Manager of Regulatory Research who can help extend our lead as the market leader when it comes to understanding utility regulation. Your goal is to develop deep and useful insights into how utilities manage energy efficiency portfolios, develop smart meter implementation plans, run customer service programs, and operate other services related to Opower’s business. 
The research will also implicated understanding what markets to prioritize, how to bring new products and services to market, and how best to effectively advocate for policies that serve the public interest and Opower’s interest in advancing energy efficiency.
This job is highly strategic and critical to our success. Opower is growing rapidly and we need an entrepreneurial professional who can use regulatory research and insight to guide our sales team and our business as a whole.

About the Job

As the Manager of Regulatory Research, you will work with three research analysts to manage projects to provide insights that will direct our sales efforts. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director for Policy, Partnerships, and Public Affairs. Regulatory insight is one of our core strengths, and this role provides an excellent opportunity to provide strategic direction and insight to successful cleantech company. This is a perfect job for an experienced analyst and entrepreneurial business professional eager to make an impact with a growing company.

About You

  • You have a degree from a top school and at least 5 years of experience in consulting, business intelligence, or other analytically driven fields.
  • An MBA or advanced degrees in economics, statistics, policy or other relevant fields is a plus, but is not required.
  • Experience with econometric and statistical analysis is preferred.
  • You love turning data into insights.
  • You are ready to become an expert in energy regulation – prior expertise is a plus.
  • You are an excellent strategic thinker and problem solver.
  • You are a master of excel and powerpoint.
  • You are comfortable in a low structure environment where change is the norm.
