For our WWF- Pacific office, we are looking for a qualified:

Manager Public Sector Partnerships and Foundations, WWF- Pacific

We are looking for a committed and persistent Public Sector Partnership and Foundation (PSP) Manager to ensure that WWF Pacific develops and maintains effective partnerships with the Public Sector and Foundations. As PSP Manager, you will ensure the effective coordination, monitoring and implementation of fundraising proposals relevant to the WWF Pacific Strategic Plan. This goes beyond a simple funding relationship and seeks to build and maintain a true partnership arrangement between WWF and the Public Sector and Foundations. Experience working in the Pacific region and conservation experience is an advantage.

Location/Contract Details:

WWF office in Suva, Fiji.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, monitor, review and update PSP and Foundation strategy and ensure its alignment with the WWF- Pacific Strategic Plan
  • Communicate the PSP and Foundation strategy to all staff and ensure that it is effectively implemented and monitored
  • Mentor staff  at country level to build fundraising capacity and skill for funding strategy development and networking
  • Research and update the funding priorities of PSP and Foundations with WWF-Pacific Country Directors and WWF gatekeepers in relevant NOs;
  • Develop strategic partnership-building/fundraising approaches with PSP and Foundations in close consultation and coordination with the WWF Network to ensure the compliance with Network Standards and best practices for engaging with PSP and Foundations;
  • Together with the Finance and Administration Director, maintain a tracking schedule of PSP and foundation supported projects in WWF-Pacific – detailing past, current and pipeline proposals
  • Work with the Country Directors, Conservation Managers in Pacific Offices, Pacific shareholders/ PSP Focal Points, and WWF Network on the priorities of PSP and Foundations to identify opportunities for fundraising;

What you need:

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

 

  • Master’s degree in business management, conservation, development studies, or in relevant fields
  • Knowledge of conservation and natural resource management issues, and with those in the Pacific regions is an advantage
  • Excellent understanding of development partnerships, fundraising, donor strategies, functions and international relations
  • 5 years of practical experience as PSP and/or Foundation Manager for a large programme, 2 years of which should ideally be in the Pacific Region;
  • Successful fundraising experience with large-scale, multi country proposals (2-3 million USD at least);
  • Experience of working and negotiating with Government and donors at all levels;
  • Proven track record in successfully managing inter-institutional relations, preferably with public sector partners;
  • Presentation, communications, public speaking and negotiation
  • Engaging effectively with culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proposal development writing
