The European Forest Institute (EFI) is an international organisation established by European States. EFI is actively enhancing its ability to respond to European and regional research and policy needs. This is addressed through its research programmes, its Policy Advice Office, its Regional Offices and its extensive Associate Member network. One of EFI’s main aims is to be an acknowledged contact point for researchers, decision-makers and the public seeking unbiased and policy-relevant information on European forests and forestry. This aim is supported by all EFI programmes/offices including the ‘Central European Regional Office EFICENT and the Observatory for European Forests’ (EFICENT-OEF). The EFICENT-OEF is distributed across three locations: Freiburg, Nancy and Zurich. The ‘Observatory for European Forests (OEF)’, based in Nancy, supports EFI’s main aims in particular by fostering linkages between information and policy decision making processes at both national and pan-European level.
For this EFICENT-OEF is seeking a Manager of ‘Observatory for European Forests’ (referred to as ‘OEF Manager’). The primary task of the OEF Manager is the responsibility for the strategic development of the OEF activities (content/scientific) and their implementation, with administration concentrating on daily management. In the case of absence of the Head of Office the OEF Manager will act as Deputy Head for EFICENT-OEF.
