Manager Natural Climate Solutions (m/f/d)

UNIQUE is seeking to recruit a manager for developing and managing natural climate solutions (NCS) projects in thematic areas such as forestation, agroforestry and mangrove restoration.

The candidate should have a business development or a land use / forestry background and will support our private sector clients in their efforts to achieve carbon neutrality. He/she should be passionate about the development of NCS projects, which in addition to mitigation improve rural peoples’ livelihoods, climate resilience and biodiversity. The ideal candidate has relevant work experience in developing NCS projects together with local partners and project developers, as well as a good understanding of carbon accounting and experience with key certification standards for voluntary carbon markets (in particular with Gold Standard and VCS). The selected expert will work together with a highly motivated international team, which develops and supports the implementation of a large NCS project portfolio. For the management of this portfolio UNIQUE deploys digital solutions to collect, analyze and report information for decision making and impact reporting.

Duty station for this position will be at UNIQUE headquarters in Freiburg, Germany, with regular short-term missions into project countries.
