Manager, Media Strategy

The Media Strategy Manager is responsible for the ideation and proposal creation for Recyclebank’s multi-media sponsorship programs. The Media Strategy Manager will take feedback from the market and translate it into media-driven programs that create value for Recyclebank’s partners. This requires a deep understanding of the media and advertising market as well as the ability to clearly communicate the value propositions of various media elements. The role will be an integral resource to Recyclebank’s Strategic Development team and should be comfortable working closely with both internal constituents and external partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• New partnership innovation: review RFPs and develop strategic proposal plans
• Package and price scalable and relevant programs that integrate Recyclebank's various advertising and media assets (including online, email, direct mail and promotional platform)
• Optimize and adjust programs for maximum return on investment
• Conduct comprehensive pricing analysis and market comparisons to price products
• Take feedback from the market and translate it to clear opportunities for the product team
• Train the sales team on new program offerings and develop effective sales pitch
• Express the value of Recyclebank’s various programs through case studies
• Work with marketing services to create scalable proposal templates and tools
• Attend sales meetings to understand the market, client needs, and challenges

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree required
• At least 5 years experience working in media (3+ years with interactive, internet, web or mobile knowledge)
• Successful prior experience either issuing or responding to media RFPs
• Commitment to results; ability to incorporate new learning into existing plans and act decisively
• Account planning/strategic planning experience in an advertising agency environment (strongly desired)
• Marketing and selling background a big plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Understanding of the media landscape, including media value metrics and pricing models
• Experience with conceptualizing integrated ideas and writing proposals and strong PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to think strategically, understanding sales needs and translate these needs into compelling concepts and programs
• In-depth familiarity with CPC, CPA, Affiliate, and CPM models
• Familiarity with website analytics, usability, and design
• Experience with media RFPs
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
• Superior time management skills and capacity to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Ability and drive to work independently and in a team environment
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong writing, presentation and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and think strategically
• Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
