Boards of land trusts are critical to the success and permanence of their organizations and building the strength of the national land trust community.   The Land Trust Alliance is launching a new initiative for engaging land trust board members designed to increase the effectiveness of their boards and their organizations. While the Alliance has always provided information and services to board members, we are forming an inter-departmental team to focus on their needs, develop new programs and tools, and ensure they are aware of how their engagement with the larger conservation community helps their land trust as well.

The Land Trust Board Services Manager will work with members of the Alliance’s Education, Communications, National Services and Development departments to create and deliver education and marketing materials specifically designed for land trust board members. It is our hope that this engagement will improve the effectiveness of land trust board members throughout the country and build a close relationship between board members and the Land Trust Alliance, the organization that represents and serves them. The expected outcomes are significant expansion of the services we provide land trusts and increased financial support to the Alliance that allows us to build stronger land trusts.
