Description

Building upon a strong foundation of science, partnership and field demonstration, CI empowers societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature, our global biodiversity, for the well-being of humanity.  To that end, CI provides grants to partners uniquely and strategically positioned to get conservation done.  Working within the Grants Policy and Management Team, the Grant Manager will provide institutional oversight and technical support to all CI divisions.  Specifically, the Grant Manager will ensure that grants from all funding sources are implemented by CI and its partners in compliance with donor requirements and institutional policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review grantee proposal budgets and agreements to ensure compliance with donor and organizational guidelines.
  • Review the accounting procedures and internal controls of each organization, perform financial risk assessments and provide recommendations for improvements and monitoring.
  • Monitor the capacity of programs to manage grantees, including timely submission and review of grantee reports.
  • Periodically review information in the sub-grants data base to ensure grantee files, including risk assessment questionnaires, evaluations, agreements, reports and correspondence are complete and up-to-date.
  • Perform on-site and desk reviews of grantee financial reports and internal controls, communicate findings to programs and monitor implementation of recommendations.
