Description

The Manager for Fisheries Partnerships will be responsible for developing and managing collaborative initiatives with the fishing communities of Hawaii. This position reports to the Director, Hawaii Marine Program and is responsible for creating a network of fishers that includes people from all Main Hawaiian Islands and has adequate representation from the numerous types of fishing communities including subsistence, cultural, recreational, shoreline, boat, commercial, and aquarium collectors.   S/he will manage the advisory board for the Fisheries Collaborative Fund and oversee grant making from this fund. Also, this position is responsible for creating collaborative actions with fishing leaders that range from field projects to statewide policy initiatives. This person will be responsible for ensuring fishing leader input into all aspects of the Hawaii Marine Program.
