Description

The European Climate Foundation is seeking a manager for its external relations activities reporting to the Director, External Relations. This is a professional role ideally suited for a university graduate with two to three years of work experience and a master degree in business administration, law or marketing/communications and with excellent interpersonal skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Contract Management
    • Oversight on all legal contractual relationships with partners
    • Responsible for financial and narrative reporting and any other contractually committed requirements
    • Responsible for management on all incoming funding
  2. Annual Reporting
    • Working with the Finance team ensure:
      • timely dissemination of the annual audited accounts
      • production and dissemination of tailored financial reports
    • Assist in timely production of the yearly Annual Narrative Report and its dissemination to key constituents
    • Produce the Annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the ensuing interim and final reports against the KPIs
  3. Partner Engagement
    • Maintain a tracking system - understand what a partner’s relationship expectations are and look creatively at how to address these
    • Ensure relationship management is undertaken to the highest professional standard
    • Ensure regular mailings of key information materials to partners, funders and philanthropic contacts
    • Manage visits by key external guests
  4. Board Relations
    • Supply Board Secretariat support including:
      • Taking minutes of Board meetings
      • Legal notifications
      • Ensure compliance with Dutch Charity authorities, ensuring maintenance of legal status and any compliance requirements
  5. Research Support
    • Research new possible partners with interests in climate or more broadly the environment, with particular focus on Spain and Southern Europe with an eye over time to managing the Southern European contacts.
    • Support the writing of proposals
    • Assist in compiling and editing biographies for big events and preparing briefing notes for our Board and Staff

Key competencies and characteristics

  • Master degree in Business Administration, Law or Marketing/Communications
  • 2-3 years of work experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Work independently as well as connect in a team
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Attention to detail and precision, solid work ethics concerning meeting deadlines and reliability.
  • Flexibility in view of working hours, as travelling and evening events are part of the workflow
  • Must speak nearly native English, be able to competently write in English and be fluent in at least two other European languages with strong preference for Spanish, and Italian, German or French.
  • Located in The Hague

Preferred starting date: as soon as possible.

Compensation: The European Climate Foundation offers a salary that is commensurate with education and experience.
