The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) seeks a candidate to develop CCAP’s U.S. policy agenda and manage CCAP’s current domestic Climate Policy Initiative, a dialogue among key industrial and other stakeholders directed toward developing U.S. federal climate and air quality policies, including industrial incentives to achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions and greater energy efficiency. In addition, s/he will coordinate activity in support of rigorous international offsets, a part of California’s landmark legislation, AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will develop CCAP’s U.S. policy agenda and corresponding outreach and fundraising strategy to maintain and extend the Center’s impact on U.S. climate and air quality policy.  The candidate will work with CCAP’s domestic policy team to implement all facets of the agenda.  S/he will be responsible for convening regular Climate Policy Initiative dialogues with members and other key stakeholders.  Through effective outreach, education and analytical functions, the candidate will build and maintain lasting and productive relationships with industry, policy makers, other NGOs, and funders. The candidate will understand the interests of policy makers in Congress and at the relevant federal agencies, and undertake outreach and advocacy to advance effective, cost-effective and pragmatic policy outcomes. The candidate will exude confidence and leadership participating in the complex and extensive policy-making and coalition-building process.
