A large hotel chain operating in many countries around the world is looking for an environment and carbon professional to manage the delivery of key programs under its Environment and Carbon strategy. This role includes monitoring of targets and rolling out programs to reduce the environmental impacts of its hotels and compliance with environmental, and specifically, carbon regulations.
 The main aspects of the role include:
 - Managing programs associated with the implementation and management of its sustainability system across its global estate to reduce environmental impacts and costs for its hotels. 
- Coordination of several environment and carbon working groups.
- Communicating regularly with Group senior management about key milestones and status for environment and carbon.
- Coordinating compliance with the UK Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) to ensure it is meeting government requirements.  This will include working with existing systems and processes to capture data, analysing data and communicating relative performance to hotels.
- Monitoring new, emerging environment/carbon regulations and defining in other regions and to support the delivery of carbon and energy management practices globally.
In addition, this role will support other elements of the Corporate Responsibility strategy including key initiatives under the Environment and Community areas as required.
This role requires the ability to:
- Understand and articulate the key environmental issues for the hotel industry and support the development of processes and practices to address these.
- Demonstrate a value added approach to corporate responsibility and specifically environment and carbon management and reduction and develop programs to roll out to hotels to support this.
- Manage multiple projects and workstreams that are part of the broader strategy. 
Explain and promote the benefits of good environmental practices, including the implementation and use of the group sustainability strategy to its hotels.
- Facilitate training on the group sustainability system and carbon and Corporate Responsibility more generally.
- Coordinate all internal and external stakeholders for CRC and develop efficient and effective processes to meet compliance requirements.
- Data analysis of energy data submitted through the group sustainability system.
- Working with consultants and external service providers.
- Gather and analyse data and produce reporting to meet government carbon reporting requirements.
- The role includes travel of up to 15% mainly within the UK.
Qualifications and Technical skills.
Experience -
At least 5 years work experience preferably in a large corporate environment or in a field related to environment, sustainability, and carbon or energy management.
Data analysis and reporting essential. Strong statistical and analytical skills.  Able to complete advanced tasks in excel including macros, pivot tables and formulas.
Experience in a large corporate working across multiple stakeholders.
Preparing and delivering presentations and training sessions.
Project management.
Preferred previous experience in energy, engineering, audit, compliance, finance.
Previous experience in the hotel, tourism or hospitality industries desirable but not essential.
Wider interest in Corporate Responsibility and carbon management 
Required Skills -
Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating confidence and professional impact in front of stakeholders
Effective presentation skills
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills - ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organization and explain complicated concepts in an easy to understand manner.
Strong data analysis
Demonstrated ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint.
