The M-REDD Pilot Project Coordinator, Oaxaca will serve as Rainforest Alliance’s principle point of contact for M-REDD activities in the state of Oaxaca among relevant stakeholders -- including communities, government institutions, consortium partners, private sector actors, civil society organizations and consultants -- ensuring successful implementation of project work, achievement of agreed goals and successful coordination with ongoing TREES program activities among forest communities in the state. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for coordinating fieldwork to test REDD+ models and demonstration activities, with a particular focus on activities in the communities that form the Unión de Comunidades Indígenas de la Región del Istmo (UCIRI). S/he will oversee the design, implementation and follow up of demonstration work at local/regional scales within the boundaries of the pilot site and influence areas in the state of Oaxaca. S/he will work closely with the TREES South Region Coordinator under the supervision of the Field Operations Manager, and will coordinate with key M-REDD staff and partners in the project consortium, particularly The Nature Conservancy and its appointed Chief-of-Party. S/he will supervise one staff memer: the M-REDD Pilot Project Associate, Oaxaca.
