Description

Bioversity International is the world’s leading organisation dedicated to researching agricultural biodiversity and its use to improve people’s lives in the world’s most vulnerable communities. This matters because today, almost one billion people don’t have enough to eat. More than 6.5 million children under five die each year from malnutrition and hunger-related diseases. Millions in rural communities earn barely more than $1 a day. We are now embarking on an ambitious new programme of private sector fundraising, to ensure that we can develop and sustain activities that will help overcome poverty, malnutrition and protect threatened natural resources. This is an exciting time to join Bioversity International. You will work in a fast moving international setting and on issues that are increasingly in the spotlight. You will have the opportunity to develop your career in a growing organisation and to make a difference to our ability to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Reporting directly to the Head of Development, and operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role of this position is to provide specialist support services in the areas of Development and Donors Research. More specifically, this role will entail: - To establish, develop and maintain a high quality prospect and donor research and information management service to support Bioversity International’s efforts to maximise the resource inflow (both financial and gifts in-kind) from the private sector, with a focus on charitable trusts and foundations, wealthy individuals (HNWIs) and the corporate sector. - In collaboration with relevant research and other staff, to prepare successful funding proposals and applications and project reports and updates. - To establish and maintain a dynamic resource of project and programme information for fundraising and donor reporting purposes. - To be responsible for the administration and management of the fundraising database and gifts administration in liaison with the Finance and IT Departments.
