Millions in rural communities earn barely more than $1 a day. Reporting directly to the Head of Development, and under limited supervision, this role provides specialist fundraising support services in the area of Development and Donor relationships. More specifically, this role will entail: - To provide quality and responsive support to the Head of Development and Bioversity International’s leadership volunteers in order to maximise resource inflow (both financial and gifts in-kind) from the private sector with a focus on wealthy individuals (HNWIs), foundations and the corporate sector. - Assist with ensuring engaging and attractive prospect and donor communications. - To help provide the highest level of donor care.

At least 3 years’ experience in fundraising, communications and/or events management environment. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability and confidence to build and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels, both within and outside the Organization. - Superior verbal and written English, including developing original material, proof reading and editing. - Experience of developing online and social media communications. - Strong data and financial management skills. - Sound working knowledge of MS Office, spreadsheets, design software such as Photoshop and relationship management databases (preferably Raiser’s Edge). - Excellent organisational skills with a thorough attention to detail and an ability to plan ahead. - Experience of using desk and on-line research techniques. - Experience of organising small and large-scale events and of coping with demanding situations and the stresses associated with running events. - Understanding of NGO/Not for Profit sector and fundraising preferably private sector donors including corporates, trusts/foundations and high net worth individuals (HNWI’s). - Knowledge of other major languages. - Work experience in a scientific research organization. - Relevant University degree or equivalent.
