We presently have a vacancy for an experienced installer who can manage a small team, to join our London branch. We are looking for a positive and proactive individual with qualifications in electrical/solar installation, proven construction industry and supervisory experience. The job offers plenty of opportunity for the right individual to progress in the role and create a successful career in the Renewable Energy industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION • Assist in the management of projects from design through to install and commissioning. • Install both solar electric and solar hot water systems • Ensure projects are installed safely in a timely and cost effective manner, to a high standard. • Be the primary point of contact for the projects manager. • Provide technical input into design. • Provide leadership to the install team to ensure a safe and successful installation. • Ensure full Health and Safety compliance on your projects.
The successful candidate will ideally have skills and experience in the following areas:
EXPERIENCE Essential • Minimum of 3 years practical experience in commercial sites and domestic properties. • Experience of supervising and managing a team • Electrical experience • Roofing experience • Project management experience
Desirable • Minimum 2 years solar experience (PV or SHW) • Plumbing experience
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Essential • Construction related qualifications (eg: NVQ2/3 or similar in a construction trade) • Electrical qualification • CSCS Card • Good IT skills • Ability to interpret building plans • 5 GCSE’s or similar to C grade or above, including Math’s and English.
Desirable • City and Guilds 2372 PV Training • BPEC or LOGIC solar thermal • H&S qualifications (eg: SSSTS, Working at height) • Use of solar design software
CHARACTER Essential • Proven ability to lead a team • Proven track record in customer care • Proactive attitude to problem solving • Excellent communication skills • Clear headed under pressure
OTHER • Able to work a range of hours with occasional overnight stays • Full driving license • Enthusiasm for renewable energies • Legal right to work in the UK • Fully fit and able to work at height
