Description

Amazing opportunity to lead and manage the development and production of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes landscape area. The Strategy will help determine the direction of nature’s recovery into the future.

About us

Buckinghamshire was one of five pilot areas that tested the draft Defra LNRS process in 2020-2021. We are now looking for a committed, confident, experienced and professional self-starter, able to build on the pilot and lead the work to identify priority opportunities to enhance the nature network of the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes area.

About the role

The role will sit in the area’s nationally-recognised Local Nature Partnership, the Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Natural Environment Partnership (the “NEP”) and report into the NEP’s Partnership Manager. Hosted by Buckinghamshire Council, the post also benefits from 25 days’ holiday per year, flexi-time working and a generous pension. You would be based in our Aylesbury offices, with the option to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

This exciting new role is broad, varied, challenging and responsible. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, experienced in the natural environment sector, and want to make a real, lasting difference.

You will be comfortable galvanising, engaging and working successfully with a wide range of stakeholders. You will have a proven ability to deliver complex projects and coordinate multiple responsibilities and tasks. These will range from writing briefs, tendering and managing specialist consultants, reporting to Council Members, managing budgets, juggling priorities, project management and report-writing; to conducting analyses, presenting and communicating complex information clearly, engaging with cross-border areas about their LNRS process, identifying and resolving issues and being a credible voice, participating in project discussions and taking direction from the LNRS steering group.

You will be responsible for ensuring the final LNRS is high quality, technically sound, supported by stakeholders, meets the needs of government guidelines and is produced on-time and on budget.
