Team: PND - Technical Team  

Job Family: Providing CBG12 

Salary: £40,705 - £45,657 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours a week 

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role

Contract: Hybrid- Permanent

About the role: 

We are looking for an individual who not only has great project management skills, but who is passionate about the natural environment and tackling climate change.  

The Environment Act has introduced a new requirement for Local Nature Recovery Strategies to be developed across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead this work, bringing together key partners and stakeholders to create a strategy that provides an ambitious yet deliverable vision as the basis for nature recovery across Bedfordshire.  

Whilst based at Central Bedfordshire, this is a jointly funded role, working on behalf of all the Bedfordshire authorities (Central Bedfordshire, Luton Borough Council and Bedfordshire Borough Council) and the Bedfordshire Local Nature Partnership to develop a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for the area.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated skilled project management professional, with experience or a keen interest in nature recovery, the environment and climate change.  

Your Role: 

  • Responsible for leading and enabling the development of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Bedfordshire, 
  • Project management and governance, including budget monitoring and risk analysis 
  • Identifying, commissioning and procuring technical work in collaboration with key partners 
  • Stakeholder communication and engagement with a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Co-ordinating inputs from members of the steering group and other working / stakeholder groups 
  • Presenting feedback/reporting progress regularly to the steering group and stakeholders 
  • Draft and prepare relevant internal reports and Committee reports
