Description

The award winning Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project (LCSP) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join this friendly team. Are you able to take the lead in delivering action to protect and enhance the nationally important chalk stream resource in and around the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? If so we are keen to hear from you.

Work will include developing and implementing the work programme of the LCSP, working closely with external grant providers, public, private and voluntary sector partners. Targets include delivery of a wide range of river restoration enhancements and the coordination of a number of local partnerships to help support innovative catchment-scale approaches to water management.  You will have the experience and confidence to help identify and secure further funding for the Project. The role also includes the supervision of the Monitoring Officer – who facilitates a busy surveying, community engagement and education programme. There will also be regular support and positive engagement with volunteers, local communities, landowners and other specialist groups.

You will be dynamic and confident in taking on the management of projects. You will possess excellent inter-personal skills including the negotiation, consensus building and facilitation skills necessary to deliver externally funded partnership projects.

You will need to have a Diploma or Degree in countryside management or similar environmental field. Experience in land management of chalk stream habitats and wildlife is desirable. You will need to be able to work outside of office hours on occasion and will be expected to lone work in the outdoors, often on difficult terrain.

The post holder will be based with the LCSP, hosted by the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service (LWCS) office, in Louth. The LWCS operates on behalf of the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB Partnership, and is hosted by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC). The post holder will need a full, valid driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes. The post is subject to LCC terms and conditions of employment.
