The Energy Saving Trust (EST) is a primarily Government Funded, non-profit company, promoting sustainable energy solutions to households, businesses and the road transport sector. We are one of the UK's leading organisations fighting to combat climate change.

The Energy Saving Trust in Scotland is delivering the Scottish Government¿s Energy Assistance Package, its new fuel poverty programme, from April 2009.

This role will involve assisting the Manager, Energy Assistance Package (EAP) to deliver the Scottish Government¿s Energy Assistance Package, in particular by maintaining relationships with stakeholders, responding to requests for information and resolving any customer complaints.

The main responsibilities will be to:

  • Act as the primary contact for stakeholders in EAP, providing written responses and meeting key stakeholders to discuss issues as required
  • Liaise with ESSacs and other providers of EAP service elements to resolve enquiries about the EAP
  • Maintain and develop contacts with a wide variety of Scottish fuel poverty stakeholders
  • Extract data from internal systems to inform responses and reports

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in public affairs or public relations;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders internally and externally;
  • Ability to prioritise tasks within a demanding environment;
  • Good knowledge of fuel poverty issues;
  • Knowledge of Scottish public and NGO sectors;
  • Good project management skills;
  • And be results orientated with the ability to work to deadlines;
  • A self-starter able to work on your own initiative;
  • And a team player who works co-operatively to deliver results.

Key qualifications required:

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
