The objective is to green our large 150 property estate and encourage all our staff, in all 3 missions to lower their carbon footprint. We are looking for an ambitious, driven person with technical knowledge, initiative and excellent communication skills to lead implementation.
Main Role:
Co-ordinate ongoing work reducing the environmental impact of all UK Missions in Brussels;
Work with senior facilities management staff and stakeholders in the FCO in London;
Carry out and provide thorough analysis of a carbon footprint that will demonstrate the key sustainable operations needed;
Help embed green thinking in all policy and operational decisions, including increased staff awareness of their own impacts both at work and at home.
Skills Required:
Essential:
Demonstrated background in environmental issues;
Project management/leadership;
Team-working;
Basic written and spoken French and fluent English (written French ability must be to a level to write to landlords - the candidates will be tested);
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – proven capability of interacting with different stakeholders, presenting results, and bringing others on board for behavioural change;
IT fluency: Microsoft package including Powerpoint.
Desirable skills:
Experience in policy development.
Pay and Benefits:
Part-time (20 hours per week);
Gross monthly salary: € 1422.74.
