Reporting to:  Head of Legislative Affairs (and Supporter Relations Director)
Hours:  Monday–Friday, with overtime as necessary
Holidays:  4 weeks, plus 4 days Christmas-New Year office closure

Closing date for receipt of completed application forms:  Monday 6 December 2010

Job Type:
Campaigns; lobbying activities; internal and external briefings; development and production of campaigns materials; research; legacy communication.  

ADI Mission:
To educate, create awareness, and promote the interest of humanity in the cause of justice, and the suppression of all forms of cruelty to animals; wherever possible to alleviate suffering, and to conserve and protect animals and the environment. 

Duties include:

  • To assist with lobbying and implementation of legislative campaigns, as directed.
  • Assist in research, writing and production of campaign materials.
  • Produce internal briefings and updates for key staff.
  • Liaison with external agencies, e.g. printers.
  • Correspond with solicitors and executors.
  • Maintain legacy files and produce reports as required.

 Qualifications and Qualities:

  • Law degree.
  • Working knowledge of animal rights/protection issues.
  • Competent with MS Office; especially Excel and Word; good internet skills.
  • Good organisation and time-management skills.
  • Excellent English and communication skills – written, oral and presentation.
  • Flexible, positive approach to work; responds well to demanding environment.
  • Team player, supportive of others.
  • Self motivated, with total commitment to the aims and objectives of ADI.
  • Vegetarian preferred.
