DNV Certification is currently seeking qualified individuals to perform Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification application reviews.
This position is not expected to require large amounts of travel. Most of the work will involve ‘desk review’ and is based in Duluth, Georgia.

The LEED Certification Reviewer serves as a primary technical subject matter expert for the evaluation of projects pursuing LEED Certification. Qualified candidates will be scheduled for Advanced LEED-NC Reviewer Training as soon as possible.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is entry-level permanent position is responsible for technical reviews of LEED project submittals with a specific focus on mechanical systems. You will:
• Develop building mechanical system acumen and apply knowledge to review LEED project submittals for certification.
• Perform technical reviews of web-based project submittals to determine LEED compliance.
• Utilize technical writing acumen to educate project teams via credit review comments
• Provide technical support as needed to DNV review team
• Assist in LEED project review processes and quality controls
• Follow-up with client as part of coordinating the LEED projects
• Remain updated on new GBCI / USGBC protocols and guidelines
• Contribute to ongoing development and collection of technical knowledge of fellow DNV reviewers through collaborative framework
• Be present and participate in GBCI and DNV call-in forums to debate on particular review issues
• Assist in conceiving and developing improvements to the LEED certification review process based on personal knowledge and vision

RELATED ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

• Support DNV mission to become the premier LEED Certification Reviewing Body independently recognizing excellence in green building performance and practice globally
• Encourage and accelerate global adoption of green building practices through LEED standards, tools and performance criteria
• Provide technical expertise to other departments in the organization
• Streamline LEED certification

Qualifications

• BS Degree or equivalent in science or technological fields, preferably mechanical engineering, applied physical science, architectural engineering, or building science.
• LEED AP designation required, with specialty (BD+C, ID+C, O+M)
• 2+ years experience in a building-related field: architecture, construction, mechanical or electrical engineering, sustainable high-performance design or development. Less experience will be considered for outstanding candidates.
• Ability to read architectural drawings, schematics, operational policies, specifications, zoning maps and equipment schedules
• General technical understanding of and experience with one or more of the following: common construction methods, general mechanical building systems, interior lighting, sensors + thermal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and internet applications
• LEED Certification Reviewer Certificate (required after hire once test is available from GBCI)
• Interest in energy modeling simulation software, ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, 55, Energy Star and other building energy standards.
• 10% travel throughout the United States
