Contract Hours: 22.5 hours (3 days) per week Salary: £18,000 Contract Type: Permanent The Bristol Zoological Society is a conservation charity that works in 10 countries around the world and runs two zoos and several Higher Education programmes in partnership with university/college institutions. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team with broad academic knowledge, experience and/or understanding of applied field conservation and conservation science research in freshwater habitats. Experience in the application of relevant research methods for fish conservation science projects is required. We are particularly interested in applicants with demonstrable experience in applied conservation measures, rather than strictly fundamental research. If you have experience in any one of these areas, we would be very interested in hearing from you. Your role will be crucial in helping us complete our mission of saving wildlife together and deliver excellent Higher Education programmes. Main Responsibilities Lead/Co-lead Bristol Zoological Society’s Conservation Projects on Freshwater Fish, including projects within our FishNet Greece and Madagascar Conservation Programme, as well as in our UK Conservation Programme. HE Teaching and Supervision: the successful applicant will lead year-long modules (undergraduate and/or masters level) and supervise and mark research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. There may be occasions when the post holder is requested to work in other Society locations, or carry out other duties considered reasonable by the Society or its representatives.
