Role Summary/Purpose: In this role of Lead Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will:
Essential Responsibilities - Work closely with Wind Energy Design Engineering, Product Service Engineering, SQE team, Commodity Leaders, Buyers, Project Management and Installation team, Supplier Performance Leaders and GE Energy Global Sourcing Quality team on all activity required to effectively support sourcing quality requirements across electrical components 
- Develop and lead First Piece Qualification plans, process / product verification efforts, quality system audits and supplier surveillance program 
- Lead process improvement effort using GE Energy Quality systems, e - tools and procedures to drive process quality improvements and leverage statistical tools for evaluation of process capability on critical – to - quality parameters 
- Participate in supplier design / engineering review & approval process and internal New Product Introduction (NPI) process 
- Assure quality through approval of Manufacturing Process Plan, Product and Process Quality Plan, product quality reviews, verification of quality documentation, monitoring of compliance, and closure of qualifications 
- Address cost of quality reduction based on customer, assembly shop and site feedback and incorporate key Customer critical-to-quality parameters in supplier processes 
- Ensure quality consistency and reduce variance in processes through First Piece Qualification, pilot lot approvals where required and with ongoing serial production 
- Coordinate initiation and resolution of Supplier Deviation Requests, material substitutions and quality control reviews on detected non - conformances at supplier facility and at site 
- Conduct root cause analysis, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) for process improvement, and preventive / corrective action as required
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor Degree

ELIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

- Position requires 40% Travel

Desired Characteristics - Strong Project Management Experience 
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering 
- Previous working knowledge of key electrical components, including generators, transformers, switchgears etc. 
- Related Wind sourcing and/or manufacturing experience, with electrical components 
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
- Ability to work in cross functional and global team environments 
- Strong written and verbal communication skills 
- Six Sigma trained and certified (GE employees only) 
- Demonstrated electrical technical aptitude and a passion for quality 
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
