Description

Reporting to the Deputy Director: Global Protected and Conserved Areas Programme, the Lead, Green List Programme Development is responsible for the implementation and ongoing strategic development of the Business Plan for the IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas as an integral part of the IUCN Global Protected and Conserved Areas Programme, and the IUCN Programme. The Lead, Green List Programme Development will also take overall responsibility for the ongoing strategic development of the Green List Programme and for resource mobilization for the programme’s implementation, according to the Business Plan. The position will support the overall governance of the IUCN Green List Programme and the development and maintenance of partnerships, including with the World Commission on Protected Areas, and will be responsible for monitoring and measuring programme impact, learning and knowledge exchange. In practice, the work involves liaison and participation with the IUCN Green List Community Manager and GPAP leads on other priority programme components, with IUCN thematic programmes and regional offices, with IUCN member organisations, and with IUCN-WCPA, other IUCN Commissions and external partners, including national and site authorities to identify and develop opportunities to implement the Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas Programme.
