Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead Engineer will perform mechanical design and analyses for tower components for various1.5 and 2.5 turbine configurations under different loading conditions. In this role you work closely with suppliers and manufacturing on the production of the components, and work with cross-functional teams to complete technical root cause analysis of field failures, identify design related improvements to prevent reoccurrence. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities - Design and develop Towers for Wind Turbines. In this role you will work closely with the supply chain and external suppliers on the production of Towers for designated models
- Ensure component cost, reliability and fulfillment are met
- Provide innovative solutions in the development of new and existing Tower variants to meet aggressive production, cost and reliability targets
- Drive complete technical root cause to identify design related improvements to prevent reoccurrence
- Drive root cause which includes understanding causes for repetitive manufacturing defects (SDRs) and working process and drawing changes to address and minimize those repeats
- Support global supply chain activities for quality assurance and fulfillment across the globe
- Drive standardization and reuse approach for our components and processes
- Capture lessons learned in design practices
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience
