An enthusiastic performer with management experience who is as equally comfortable delivering our award-winning presentation (check out our trailer) on the essential science of climate change to high school students as you are managing operations and communications for a small team of remote educators based in Atlanta, GA and Chapel Hill, NC.  In addition to presenting, you’ll support ACE Action Teams (high school environmental clubs) on projects such as school wide energy audits, recycling programs, and awareness campaigns. 

Characteristics:
You have a proven track record of managing for results, communicating complex issues concisely and clearly, solving problems on your feet, working well independently, and being a solid team player. You are comfortable working from home and remotely managing a regional team.  In short, you can effectively support and run regional operations while advancing the vision and mission of the organization on a day-to-day basis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Outreach/scheduling the ACE Assembly at local High Schools 
  • Exciting and consistent delivery of the ACE presentation
  • Work with local Action Teams to complete projects and elevate their leaning of the issue through project-based learning
  • Organize and run 2-3 inspiring, engaging, and fun leadership trainings for high school students per semester
  • Build and maintain relationships with other ACE Educators, schools, students, teachers, partners and other nonprofits
  • Manage operations and communication between the DC, ATL, and NC educators and Headquarters in Oakland, CA
  • Support PR and fundraising efforts for the Southeast region

Required Qualifications: 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills—dynamic, engaging personality – charismatic – especially in eyes of high school youth
  • 1-3 years experience managing a team with a solid combination of accountability, encouragement, and ownership
  • Ability to develop work plans, manage projects to deadlines, and handle multiple priorities
  • Solid understanding of climate science and a passion for inspiring youth to take action
  • Comfortable taking a leadership and support role in team environments
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the DC area school systems and local NGO community
  • Experience in performance arts or presenting before large audiences
  • Experience working with diverse communities
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com

Schedule: Full-time, non-exempt position, 40 hours per week
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
