It has more than 37,000 members, manages and protects over 8,400 acres of land on 87 nature reserves and 2 nature parks and runs 11 visitor centres. The aim of Essex Wildlife Trust is to Protect Wildlife for the Future and for the People of Essex. It is supported financially by members, local businesses and grant making organisations. It is one of the largest of the 46 county wildlife trusts that work together throughout the British Isles as The Wildlife Trusts.

Langdon Nature Reserve covers 500 acres of woodland, meadows, lakes and grassland, as well as a rich heritage with former plotland gardens and a museum of plotland life. Langdon is the Essex Wildlife Trust’s largest inland nature reserve with a rich mosaic of habitats where we work in various partnerships including with the Land Trust. The site attracts huge numbers of visitors who use the extensive network of footpaths to enjoy walking, activities and family friendly days out.

The ideal candidate will be a positive person that has a keen interest in protecting wildlife, is passionate about nature and enjoys engaging with people. We are looking for a team player who is self-motivated, organised and thrives on providing a welcoming visitor experience.

Please note this role will require regular weekend working, usually alternate weekends, as part of a rota.

Working Hours: 22.5 per week
