Landscape Officer

Team:PND - Technical Team

Job Family: Enabling CBG11

Salary: £36,554- £39,707 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Hybrid -Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role

Contract Type: Hybrid – Permanent

As a member of a team of specialists, you’ll find your greatness by acting as a champion of our area’s unique Landscape.

The Council has an ambitious agenda with significant growth planned over the next 20 years for up to 39,000 homes and 24,000 jobs. We need an enthusiastic and skilled Landscape Officer to help us deliver this growth agenda.? You will be part of our multi-disciplinary Technical Skills Team within Strategic Growth, where you will promote our rich landscape and help the Council meet its vision for the area.  You will also be leading on enabling the delivery of public art across Central Bedfordshire, complementing your role as Landscape Officer. You will work closely with our Planning Policy and Planning Delivery Teams, providing specialist advice in relation to planning applications at all levels, including minerals and waste applications, and inputting into strategic plan making through the review of the local plan and supporting guidance documents.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated skilled landscape professional, with a degree (or equivalent) in Landscape Design and Management or similar, and preferable membership of the Landscape Institute at Associate level or above to work in our busy and exciting team.? You will have a proven record of working in the planning environment and giving advice in a local authority context.
