Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of the Tamara Landscape Partnership Scheme.

The Tamara Landscape Partnership Scheme is a five-year project primarily funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and hosted by the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Cornwall Council. This inspirational scheme will offer training and volunteering opportunities, and events and support designed to enhance landscape and historical heritage, champion health and wellbeing, and boost the local economy - enriching lives and reviving livelihoods. To deliver a step change in the number and nature of people engaged in and caring for this distinctive area, the scheme will reach out to and connect communities, individuals and disadvantaged and hard to reach groups.

The Land Management Officer will be responsible for the delivery of the key Tamara Landscape Partnership Scheme project 1C New Approaches under the line management of the Senior Heritage Officer.

The project (New Approaches): This project will work with farmers, landowners and community groups to achieve biodiversity gain and climate change mitigation and resilience, and increasing income for farmers and landowners through the post-Brexit agri-environmental scheme. This will result in an increase in what many would consider the natural heritage features of the landscape. It will also work with government agencies and NGOs to deliver challenging woodland and hedge restoration targets, as well as flood management and water quality improvements.

For the Land Management Officer post we are looking for someone with a passion for delivering community-based land management projects, working with farmers and landowners, as well as an experienced project manager with a successful track record.

You should be educated to degree or equivalent level, or have equivalent experience, and have a background in delivering land management outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate the skills to successfully manage, support and deliver the involvement of a broad spectrum of stakeholders and partners in successful land management projects. Experience in (grant-funded) project management, delivering outcomes and outputs within tight timelines will be expected.

The Tamara Landscape Partnership team works closely with a wide range of public, private and voluntary organisations and this role requires the people, facilitation and project management skills to bring these diverse groups to work together towards shared goals.

The Land Management Officer role is a fixed term position until the end of the Tamara Landscape Partnership Scheme.   It is offered on a full time basis and the salary band is Cornwall Council Grade J.

Any questions or if would like to discuss any aspects of the role further, please don't hesitate to contact Gary Lewis, Tamara Landscape Partnership Senior Heritage Officer (email gary.lewis@cornwall.gov.uk)

This is a fixed term contract until 31 December 2025 due to additional funding.

We are open to discussion about flexible working.

Closing Date: 20th February 2022
