Laboratory Technician Position in the Electrical Energy Storage Area

CIC Energigune is a new energy research centre based in the Basque Country of Spain. CIC has a world-class research facility, cutting-edge instrumentation, an experienced management team, and a scientific committee composed of prominent scientists, entrepreneurs, and industrial experts.

We are inviting for application for a laboratory technician position in the electrical energy storage area.

Qué buscamos

The candidate is expected to:

Ø  Conduct laboratory experiments:

a.    Solid state and solution-based synthesis of inorganic materials

b.    Structural and physico-chemical characterization: X-Ray Diffraction, IR and Raman Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Thermogravimetry, NMR.

c.     Preparation of slurries, laminates and electrcohemical coin cells

d.    Electrochemical characterization: impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic cycling

Ø  Support activities in the research center: laboratory/equipment maintenance and organizational tasks

Ø  Writing scientific reports and present results in internal group meetings

We are looking for candidates with a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other scientific disciplines in a related field, e.g. Material Science or Electrical Engineering. Experience in chemical synthesis and/or electrochemical characterization would be preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
