WSP Environmental Laboratories, part of the WSP Group, has over 60 highly trained chemists and research scientists delivering high quality, state-of-the-art analytical services to consultancy, site investigation and remediation clients globally.

Due to the continued growth of our environmental laboratories a number of Analyst positions have become available in our Analytical Chemistry teams.

As an Analyst you will be involved in the preparation, extraction and analysis of soil and water samples, using a wide variety of physical and chemical techniques. Successful applicants will be able to work effectively in a team, have good organisational skills and be customer focused and will have experience working in a professional, production laboratory environment.

We are looking for the following qualifications and skills:

  • Experience working in a commercial laboratory environment, preferably within the environmental sector.
  • A level, HND or equivalent (or higher) in Chemistry.
  • Experience of the following techniques would be an advantage: Continuous Flow Analysis, Discrete Auto Analysis, GC-MS Analysis, GC-FID Analysis, and Wet Chemistry Techniques.
  • Proven ability to assimilate technical information, manage and deliver projects.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills displaying a willingness to communicate with all colleagues.
  • Experience working to ISO 17025 quality standard.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to react quickly and adapt in a dynamic working environment.
