SEI’s Oxford Centre is looking for a knowledge manager to join our team from September 2014 to cover maternity leave.

Candidates should have expertise in climate change adaptation and online knowledge management, and an understanding of climate change science and impacts on environmental systems in Africa. The position would specifically require a commitment to knowledge management, and administration of weADAPT.

The main requirements are:
• MSc in environmental management, environmental economics, environmental decision-making, climate change or development.
• Specific expertise in management of a knowledge platform;
• Interface with both the scientific and policy communities;
• At least two years’ experience in development practice/research in East Africa;
• Good understanding of climate change adaptation issues;
• Knowledge of participatory approaches to decision-making;
• Experience in project management;
• Experience writing proposals and securing project funding;
• Be a dynamic networker who is keen and flexible to travel;
• Be an enthusiastic team player.

Desirable skills:
Spreadsheet/database applications, GIS and excellent writing and communication skills.

Salary range: £22,500-£27,500

Duty station: Oxford, UK.

This is a nine-month position to cover maternity leave.
